Let us prepare your Reliability (MTBF) Prediction Reports for you, in accordance with MIL-HDBK-217F (N1/2), Parts Count Method or Parts Stress Method (view examples). The Parts Count Method:The Parts Count Method will use parts failure rates obtained by table lookups within MIL-HDBK-217F (N1/2), Appendix A, Generic Failure Rate Data Tables. So... we will only need to review your BOMs, and we will not need to reiview your Schematic Diagrams.
The parts failure rates listed in the MIL-HDBK-217F data tables are categorized by generic part type and the failure rates are pre-calculated using a default electrical stress ratio of approximately 50% (applied/rated = 0.5). Because good engineering design practice implements low electrical stress, the results of a Parts Count Method analysis tends to be conservative.
Our engineers will identify the generic part type for each component listed in the BOM and then find it's matching generic part type listed in the MIL-HDBK-217F Appendix A data tables. Once the match is found, the corresponding part failure rate is identified and utilized in the report.

The Parts Stress Method:The Parts Stress Method requires our engineers to perform circuit analysis, calculating the actual electrical and thermal stresses, for each part in the System. So... we will need to review both your BOMs and your Schematic Diagrams.
The results from the engineer's circuit analysis serve as input parameters to the MIL-HDBK-217F (N1/2) failure rate models. These models are established mathematical formulations that predict the failure rates of electronic components based on power dissipation, voltage and current stresses along with temperature and environmental stresses. Parts rated stress, quality levels, complexity, composition and package type are also input parameters that affect the parts failure rate calculations.
Our engineers are very experienced, fast and accurate. For a Reliability Prediction Report, Parts Stress Method, the price and delivery time frame will be determined by the quantity of parts to be analyzed by our engineers.
